"The Game of Dad's Life" DVD

This quirky docu-drama tells the real life story of Aref Kabbara, a Lebanese-American immigrant and father of two, who left his war ridden country for America, but only to find himself settling into a suburban life of solitude and daily rituals. However, one day, Aref's kids decide to pay him a visit that totally disrupts his carefully planned life, and Aref finds himself trying, hopelessly to regain control.

This film provides a satirical glimpse into the life of an immigrant who, like many others, had to make sacrifices to provide for his children a better life, even if that meant surrendering his own life to the chains of routine.

Official Selections: FAIF International Film Festival, Hollywood & New Mexico Film Festival.

CARAMEL
www.caramelmovie.com

Lionsgate invites you to celebrate the film that the New York Times calls "hard to resist,"
when CARAMEL comes to DVD on June 17th.

This film is a true favorite international film sensation!  Written, directed by and starring
renowned Lebanese producer/director Nadine Labaki, CARAMEL was an official selection
at the Cannes, Toronto and AFI film festivels.  Labaki also received the Filmmaker of the Year
award from the Middle East International Film Festival.

Five women meet regularly in a beauty salon, a colorful and sensual microcosm of Beirut,
where several generations come into contact, talk and confide in each other.  In the salon,
their intimate and liberated conversations revolve around men, marriage and motherhood,
between haircuts and sugar waxing with caramel.   Rated PG

The Los Angeles Times calls CARAMEL "sweet, intimate and sophisticated," and USA Today
raves, it's a "cinematic treat!"

Arabic (Lebanese Dialect) - CD and Study Guide

The authors of the featured book searched the market for Audio tapes or CDs that present the Arabic Language with the Lebanese dialect and could not find any.  So, they decided to create their own CD to teach their children the language of their grandfathers. What started as a family project turned out to be beneficial
for many people of Lebanese decent.

As a result, the product is now on the market and receiving great response. The best response was from a buyer who said that he looks forward to sitting
down with his children and learn the language Jiddo used to speak:-)

We Loved Each Other So Much   3/06
Produced by Pieter Van Huystee
film stillFor half a century, the Lebanese singer Fairuz has been a living legend in the Arab world. Her home is Beirut, once a thriving seaport known as "the Paris of the Middle East," and a haven for those fleeing religious or ethnic persecution. In 1975, however, a civil war that was to rage for fifteen years disrupted this idyllic situation. Throughout the civil war Fairuz remained in Beirut, and everyone - whether Christian, Muslim, left-wing or right-wing, people from all the groups that were murdering each other - continued to love this singer with the nightingale voice.
WE LOVED EACH OTHER SO MUCH portrays the love of diverse Beirut inhabitants for this diva. Through the music, and the myths that grew around Fairuz, they tell their life stories, and narrate the tragic, stirring history of their city. Their reminiscences, combined with Fairuz' songs and her story, provide a moving commentary on Lebanon's tumultuous history, traces of which are still visible in Beirut's devastated cityscape and bullet-scared building.
Today Fairuz is a cultural phenomenon whose appeal has spread far beyond the Arab world. Offering viewers a revealing and captivating introduction to this singer, and her place in Lebanese history and culture, WE LOVED EACH OTHER SO MUCH also powerfully shows how music and the emotions it stirs can transcend political and religious differences.
"Offers many wonderful moments, both light and intense. Fairuz's songs seem to make the difficult situation of the Middle East easier for everyone." Al Jadid: A Review & Record of Arab Culture and Arts

"Highly Recommended! Just as great writing does, all great filmmaking transcends its subject. WE LOVED EACH OTHER SO MUCH is supposed to be about the legendary Arab singer Fairuz, but is so much more. Intimate and poignant... documentary filmmaking at its finest." - Educational Media Reviews Online
